Other Additives
Flame Reterdant:
Include a diverse group of chemicals that are added to manufactured materials, such as plastics and textiles, and surface finishes and coatings. Flame retardants are activated by the presence of an ignition source and are intended to prevent or slow the further development of ignition by a variety of different physical and chemical methods. They may be added as a copolymer during the polymerisation process, or later added to the polymer at a moulding or extrusion process or applied as a topical finish.
Antistatic Agents:
It is a compound used for treatment of materials or their surfaces in order to reduce or eliminate buildup of static electricity. The role of an antistatic agent is to make the surface or the material itself slightly conductive, either by being conductive itself, or by absorbing moisture from the air; therefore, some humectants can be used.
Antifog Agents:
Antifog Agents are chemicals that prevent the condensation of water in the form of small droplets on a surface which resemble fog. Anti-fog additives can also be added to plastics where they exude from the inside to the surface.
